I agree with you partially . . . a few factors, some I haven't spoke about, for the decline. I'm a seasonal fatty anyway. Don't want to leave riding - love it, just need a kick in the pants! I done it for all of my adult life and knew nothing else. As the years went on I had motivation issues and was not climbing as well as I expected. This occurred along with a career and family transitions, much like yourself. This led to several efforts to "get fit" where I thought "this time for real," but every time it sputtered. Eventually it dawned on me that the weight of all my past experiences was holding me back. What I really needed was a new sport. So when I moved to Ottawa I decided to become a bike racer---in my 30s. I have no idea what I'm doing most of the time and I feel like a total newb at races, but every experience is brand new and exciting---I try to think of it as a Zen beginner's mind.

So maybe you need a new sport or maybe just find your way to that beginner's mind. I know it's unsolicited advice, so don't take what I say too seriously, but I hope it helps. Have fun!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05009965557855465151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8572555494322710549.post-22060589551912750762010-10-20T12:57:31.664-04:002010-10-20T12:57:31.664-04:00I'll sponsor you Rig Ring.
