101 Quickie

sorry for the crappy blurry image - you're going to have to go clicky clicky on the above profile to view my comments along the course profile
Quickie Race Re-cap:
  • 326 starters
  • 43 DNFs
  • 144th overall out of 283 finishers (mid pack - no surprise)
  • * 39th/53 single speeders (lots of freakishly fast riders!)
  • Finishing time: 10hrs 30 mins 4 secs (I'm sure I coulda come under 10 hrs. . . . but didn't - meh)
  • 10 000 + ft of climbing
  • a few couldas, shouldas, wouldas
  • happy overall with my finish - had a lot of fun, met some good people
  • people love pink single speeds
  • no mechanicals, but lost some tools
  • hardest race yet
Race report later tonight/tomorrow.

* as best I could remember - official results not yet posted

Generally there is a 30 minute handicap awarded to those on pink bikes, pink being slower than black and even slower than orange. Mauve is quick and chartreuse is snappy. Brown squirts. Ti is stealthy. Surely they teach you the color wheel up there?

So, the only question you have to ask yourself is where could you have made up those extra 4 seconds?

"a few couldas, shouldas, wouldas!" Just like my thoughts at the end of the races.

So many kicks on the nuts!!!
Hope you didn't lost them among the others tools!!!

Lots of hills done with a SS!!!
Congrats!

I could be an ass here, but after 4 kicks in the nuts, a ton of cramping, 2 RATTLESNAKES! and almost falling into a river over the course of a 160km on a mountain bike.....

I gotta say PROPS!

Well done, Craig!

told yah so...
the hundies are a f-n killer

How Rich (teamdicky) does them year after year on a SS is beyond me...
It's gotta be a sht kick'n on a rigid!!

(gf typically volunteers as the "burger cooker".
Chris Scott always hosts a kick azz race!!!

Love them!

(thank god I'm not doing them this year though, my carbon bike just broke :(

no more carbon for me. It's Ti from here on in... That's two expensive pieces of carbon I have busted - crank and frame.

Next up S100. Now, that's a friggen great race.

Pizza at 4000ft. Nothing beats that!

Big Ring, Unlike the Vegan Vagabond, I doubted you for every minute you were out. And bro, you'd go alot faster if you's stop wearing pumps and the "pretty Woman" outfit when you rode.

Hey nice to meet you to, and of course people love a pink single speed. But the little girl you stole it from was probably sad.
