Hey Mr. Dejay

While racing out at the BC Bike Race last July, I had the good fortune to meet Dejay, hang out with him for a bit and ride with him (actually he rode past me . . . a few times) during the race. A lot of fast guys got chips on their shoulders with even bigger egos to boot. Not Dejay. Very down to earth, funny and super friendly.

Check out the interview with him and teammate, Fuzzy, over on Bike Rumor.

Those boyz are pretty wicked.
Let me put it to yah this way...
I was at one race. Getting some crash eye in a fine establishment. It was raining all night. The boyz were out drinking in the back 40!!!
I got up early to get my digs together. And, a couple of the boyz had their head out the window puking up a storm!
Then we all raced a 100 miler.
Dejay, Fuzzy, etc...
All kick azz at the hundred milers.
I take it these boyz are out drinking and riding every damn day of the week (?)
If they stop though... that may be the end of them.

Nothing beats a 100 miler of pain.

The ultimate "underground" non conformist bad boy to beat though has to be Harlan...

http://boxedbee.blogspot.com/

Harlan beat Floyd...
Harlan just kicks butt...

I take it this lad could make it to the big leagues if choose so, but instead... he is a non-conformist and somewhat of a rebel in the cycling world.

Great rider...

(same with many others out there... hours upon hours upon hours of training these fellas and felletes put in though)
Always training... its their life.

Most amazing dude I ever met has to be Tinker. The guy is around 46 years old and still kicks young butt!!!
Amazing!
I take it he's going to settle down with his new child and wife soon though.
Truly one for the mountain bike history books that's for sure.

Glad I had a chance to chat it up with a lot of these guys and have a few beers... Cause you only get to do that for a small portion of your time here...
Memories...

is suppose to be a great race!!!
I was chatting with the race organizers on this (actually invited me down last year for a pre-ride of the course)...

Pure single track. No packing up...
Just enjoy the ride!!!

Should be a good time!

so so many good ones cropping up... hard to choose...
(I'm not training as hard anymore... too too much work... and travel .... was great while it lasted though... had some good times and great memories... hope to do a couple of more solo staged races though... )
